I thought I would post this here as well as it fits into this thread nicely. As mentioned above by Joe the tail presents a little bit of a learning curve. I mentioned my method of clean skinning and had the opportunity last night to get some photos of it. I stretch the otter out. You can see here that I have used a pair of vice grips and wire to do the deed. By the way if you get the chance everyone should have a pair of vice grips outfitted with a washer on the end for such things. I use it also to hang up lynx toes for final skinning. It comes in handy a lot. I am a big proponent of skinning tight hides. Using the wire and hook on the mid section helps a lot. It skins real clean and I skin it all the way around from one side. A bit of trimming is needed on the second edge and the end of the tail but it is my prefered method.
