Here is the drowning rod end and lock that I use on my rebar drowners. I use a T-stake to stake the upper end to the bank. Here is a chain drowner. The same lock works on chain. Easier to fool with than cable and lasts forever. The split ring is what I run the T-bar stake thru. The cable loop is what I use to cinch down around the drowning weight(bag) Here is a diagram of how the drowning rod works. Some people were asking about this. I think it explains it. The trap will go down the rod but wont come back up. The upper end is staked to the bank and the lower end is shoved into the mud.
