Heres one that will cost ya a rope. Opening a bodygripper.. First.. I like to make a loop in the end of my rope, sometimes both ends. This rope was used for demenstration only..it is too week to be doing this on a regular basis.. 1. String your rope through the eye's of the spring. One more time back through will generaly give you a little more ease in holding the springs shut (not shown) 2. Loop it on your foot (or use a pice of wood, I will explain why I use loops instead of wood in a minute) and PULL on the lose end.. 3. Attach safety latches.. 4. Loops instead of a board.. With the board, you need something solid to stand on. Now, I do a lot of trapping in the Mississippi River and Drainage ditches. Not much solid most of the time. With a loop, I just put it over my boot, and its on solid. Also with a small loop on both ends, you can use the rope to haul beaver out of the water and back to the boat/truck, carring it like a suitcase. One end over a foot, the other over its tail.
